These are their \u2018payment terms\u2019, and they differ on each marketplace, but can be up to 60 days, which means a seller\u2019s cash cycle (number of days from paying their supplier for stock to receiving payment from the marketplace) can be up to 100 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-a-shorter-cash-cycle-is-better\">Why a shorter cash cycle is better<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Clearly, a shorter cash cycle is better than a longer one; the less time that you have cash tied up in inventory, the more sales and profit you will be able to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shorter cash cycles can help your business to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet demand<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase profits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Faster payments = shorter cash cycles = higher profits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cash-cycle-video\">Cash cycle video<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In this video example, with a 50-day cash cycle and sales of \u00a310,000, you would have seven cash cycles and \u00a370,000 in sales over a one-year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you shortened your cash cycle by 15 days (i.e. ordered more inventory to sell 15 days earlier), you would have ten 35-day cash cycles in the same year, and \u00a3100,000 in sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"video-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Why cash cycles matter in ecommerce\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uxsRU7FtlZI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"bg-colorway-gray pv-x-large\">\n    <div class=\"section section--large\">\n        <div class=\"section__inner\">\n            <blockquote class=\"quote quote--large\">\n                                    <cite data-animate=\"fade-up\">Akbar Ahsan,<br \/>\r\nCo-founder<\/cite>\n                                <p>\u201cShortening your cash cycle even by a few days can make a significant difference, especially if your business is growing\u201d<\/p>\n            <\/blockquote>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-shorten-your-ecommerce-cash-cycle-and-improve-cash-flow\">How to shorten your ecommerce cash cycle and improve cash flow<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To bridge the gap (therefore shortening the cycle length) between purchasing inventory and getting paid by your marketplace, sellers can use personal savings, credit cards and cash flow financing solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Storfund service helps businesses increase cash flow and at the same time grow at pace, because you are only receiving money advanced to you on what you have already sold. As we typically pay 15 days quicker than marketplaces, if you currently have a 30 day cash cycle this will be halved by Storfund; translating into a 100% increase in annual sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting paid for your marketplace sales as soon as you sell, and therefore being able to restock quicker is a key way to shorten your cash cycle. A lean inventory will also allow you to quickly respond to trending products and changes in the market.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/storfund.com\/en\/how-to-improve-your-amazon-cash-flow\/\">More on inventory management<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Negotiate with your suppliers<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Build good relationships with your suppliers so you can ask for better payment terms. An extra few days or weeks can make a big difference to your cash cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Long payment terms mean having to wait for cash to restock, but by getting paid faster for your
